Recap of the weekend

Friday my oldest spent the night at a friends house so I only had the younger two. I took them to grab a burger(me a salad) and then rented some movies. I watched Bride Wars and they watch Hotel for Dogs. Both movie weren't bad but not great either. We had our own sleep over in the living room to end the night.

Saturday I took the little ones shopping for summer clothes because they still wear long sleeves and jeans almost everyday here and with us leaving in 3 weeks to places that get up into the 100s, they will all need shorts and tanks.OldNavy is having a great sale on summer clothes for the whole family and I grab a bunch of workout clothes too, they had the workout tanks for $5! Then we headed to our friends house for a movie night but the kids decided they wanted to jump all night on the trampoline. (note to self to buy one when we move).

Sunday, Mother's day. Well this day didn't start off so well they boys wished me a Happy Mother's day but then started complaining they wanted to stay home to play video games, they started to fight, name calling, and then just pouting. After a good hour they finally snapped out of it and we went to breakfast at the Black Bear Diner. It was very nice and really good. To top it off a older lady came to our table and told me how well behaved my boys were. That made up for what happen in the morning. I have to admit I get that a lot. The boys always do so well IN PUBLIC! Then we went to Carmel beach. It was nice and sunny but very windy. The older two buried themselves in the sand and didn't move for the next hour. It was quiet funny but the baby was upset they didn't want to play with him. Last we went to Coldstone for our treat and it was yummy as always even the Sinless cake batter ice cream that had 1/3 less fat. It wasn't as creamy but still good. And since I had shopped for the younger two the day before I took the oldest shopping and found great deals at Anchor Blue and Zumiez. The best part was that Anchor blue offers a 10% military discount. I love stores that do that. It really makes me go back to those places.  We headed home late and Mother's day ended early because I had to get them ready for the week so it was time to do laundry and get the house picked up. At the end of the night Cruz reminded me about the tea he had given me and we all enjoyed a cup of warm tea and cuddle on the sofa together.

Well I guess I will same the randomness of my week for next time. I have a 101 things to do and blogging isn't high on that list right now. I hope everyone had a blessed weekend.

Long weekend recap

My weekend started Thursday.

It was a bad start. I took the boys to the dentist and found out that Ronnie had 3 cavities. He only needs one filling thankfully because the other two are about to fall out. Damages $65. Now Cruz on the other hand has 8 cavities I couldn't believe it. So much for taking his word that he was brushing right. He needs 5 fillings, two caps, a tooth pulled and a spacer put in. Damages $700!!!!!! He maxed out his dental coverage for the year in one visit. Needless to say he was in big trouble and is getting all sugar possible taken out of his diet. We make him brush after everything he eats and have cut out his allowence for the time that it takes us to pay for his work. Do you think we are being too hard? It is a lot of money, thankfully we have it right now but man it hurts to know that we will be losing all that money and to mention he's going to be in some pain for a while.

So after a day filled with errands  I got ready for our early Valentines date night. We went to a beautiful new restaurant called La-la's Grill. It was so modern and chic. The food was amazing also. Then we went to see Taken which was action packed. Then we returned home to a very romantic night:)

Friday we headed to Fairfeild to visit a friend who returned from his 4th deployment. It's always nice to see hubby and him get together. We had a blast drinking and having fun. The boys played the Wii all night with his son and were pretty tired out by 2am!

Saturday we went to Travis AFB and drove around in the rain looking at how big and nice it was. I really wish we could be stationed at an Air Force Base for once. Their bases are so much nicer then the Army post we've lived on.We took the boys bowling and then it was back to his house for another round of drinks and games.

Sunday we had planned to leave but it was raining so much and we had only got 3 hours of sleep. So we decide to make it another night. We took the kids to Chuck e Cheese and then to the mall. It was nice to get to an indoor mall that had more then 20 stores! Then back to the house to recover and get some much needed rest.

Monday we headed out at 11 and made it home by 2. It was a long wet drive home but at least we where finally home. The rest of the day we were getting things ready for the week and back to normal.

This week is another short work/school week and the beginning of the trips to the dentist to get Cruz better. He will be getting his tooth pulled first and then they'll give him time to heal from that. The were nice enough to split the visits into 4 so we didn't have to pay the whole amount at once.

I just finished cleaning out the boys closets and rummaging through the clothes I saved for them. I think I got ride of more then I did for them to where. My boys are so far apart in age that the hand me downs really are too dated. Cruz is VERY picky and wont were much of what was Ronnie's and he is so ruff on his cloths that I don't save much for Salvador. How long do you keep hand me downs if at all? Now I have 5 BIG bags of cloths to donate. I don't think I'll be keeping any more things from any of them. It takes so much room and now we have the $ to just by the new stuff, plus I like to SHOP.

This weekend went by so fast.

At this time of year August is our calm before the storm of birthdays,anniversary, and then the holiday season. It's typically when we get to relax and enjoy our kids but here in Cali its the time we send our boys to school and make the decision to make life a little harder by putting them into soccer and trying to convince them that that is enough and that they cant handle much more then that. Or maybe it's me that handle more then that. So no guitar lessons or after school this or that. With one parent having to drive them here or there and helping with homework and getting dinner ready by at least 6 and making time for outside playtime for the little guy before bed there isn't much room for anything else. Soccer I don't mind at all. It's good for them health wise and for me to practice my sports shooting. It's been awhile since they have done soccer but I'm sure once they start it will all come back.

On Friday hubby took the boys to see the new Star Wars movie. He took ALL 3! I had the whole house to myself. It was so weird to be here with no kids, it was so quiet. It was heaven! I scraped of course and then caught up on some shows that I don't watch while they are around. I even had a drink, my fav right now, which is Rock star pomegranate with Ruby red Absolute. That will get up pump to do anything! When they came home they all rushed in to give me a hug and tell me the entire story form beginning to end. Then we all watch the Olympics together, which in our house makes for an entertaining show of the boys mimicking what they see and on Friday it was the start of the track and field races so our hall way became the track.

                                                                                                                  

Saturday we head to the county fair. It was a lot of fun. They had something for everyone, Salvador got to go on some rides and the boys had their turn on some of the bigger rides. The weather is perfect here for the fair. It was sunny but there was a constant breeze that cooled us off. The boys favorite part was all the goodies.

Sunday was typical. Cleaning and getting ready for the school week. We also watched our first of many FOOTBALL games. It was our two teams playing each other. The COWBOYS and the Broncos. Those darn Broncos actually won, good thing it was just pre season and it didn't really count! Hubby is so excited this year because he order the NFL package through Direct TV and so he has no chance on missing any Bronco games, we'll just be fighting when the COWBOYS play at the same time as the Broncos.

Well, I got a sick baby on my hands this week so I'm sure most of our time will be spent on the sofa watching Monkey(Curious George) and Doggy(Clifford). Hope all had a good weekend and have a stress free week.

Another weekend gone by

The days roll by and weekends seem shorter when school is in. We had another quiet weekend were it was just us. We watched a lot of Olympics and then watch as the Salvador tried to mimic what he saw. He got pretty good at tumbling but hurt himself trying to use the coffee table as a balance beam. It was funny to watch!  We headed over to the base pool on Sunday and saw our boys become wrinkly little raisins from two hours in the pool. Then came home to start our very own Dessert for dinner Sundays, an idea from the very talented Andrea. Now mine is starting simple and not from scratch but I'll get there. Hope everyone's weekend was peaceful.

How much can you fit into a weekend?

So we had such a busy weekend.

Friday:

1. Cleaning everything from toilets to all the laundry, we were going to be gone all weekend so I had to do it now before Sunday.
2. Food shopping.
3. Hair cuts. I cut my hair AGAIN. It's hard to go long after having it short. When my hair gets almost to my shoulders it looks kinda funky and doesn't style well, so it came off. The boys got their back to school cuts too.
4. Drive 2 1/2 hours north to Fairfield, got stuck in traffic AGAIN.
5. Drop off Hubby at going away party.
6. Drive another hour to the middle of nowhere to see Monica.(worth the drive)
7. Go to eat dinner at 9 only to realize I lost my wallet and couldn't pay my half of the bill. (good thing for good friends who don't give it a second thought to pay the whole bill.)
8. Finally relax and catch up and watch our boys bond.

Saturday:

1. Call every where I have been to see if my wallet was there.(no luck)
2. Check accounts to see if cards have been used.(no transactions)
3. Finally give up and decide to head back(can't do much with out money)
4. Boys start to pack up and Ronnie decides to look in his backpack to see if maybe the wallet is in there, as he is I tell him why in the world would it be in there and as soon as I finish the sentence he pulls it out!
5. We all get ready and head to the peach festival. It's cute and very small but fun.
6. My boys start to melt in the 90 + heat so we go for lunch and I pick up the bill this time!
7. We head back to pick up Hubby.
8. Decide we shouldn't leave at peak traffic hour so head to the wonderfully BIG mall to eat dinner.
9. We see a movie theater and decide to watch Batman(it was amazing), along with hundreds of other people.
10. Start our drive home at 1 am!(no traffic at that time)

Sunday

1. Wake up way to early to function, wait for hubby to make coffee, let the coffee start working then I can get moving.
2. Do spot cleaning.
3. Head to store for things I forgot.
4. Make my famous Guacamole.(You'll love it even if you don't like guacamole)
5. Bake a cake, even with homemade frosting.(it was wonderful)
6. Welcome guest who are 1/2 hour early!
7. Grill the chicken fajitas.
8. Get the whole dinner together.
9. Introduce my favorite summer drink. Corona and pink lemonade frozen!!!!
10. Sit and enjoy.

What's on the agenda for today? Not much I hope. I do want to do some last few things with the boys before they head back to school, so I will let them pick one thing each week before they go back. I do have to finish clothes shopping and what do you know Old Navy is having their jean sale. I hope everyone is enjoying their last days of summer.
